In 2014 and 2018, I was both humbled and honored to be elected and then reelected into the Vader City Council.
While I had no previous government experience at the time, being asked to run for council by the then mayor of the city instilled a sense of pride and civic obligation in me. These feelings have not changed, and I continue to feel that serving, on the council or as mayor, is both an honor and a public trust. I feel that being elected to an office means being entrusted by those in the community to perform the duties of that office with professionalism, fairness, and an ongoing commitment to the role.

In February of 2020, the Vader City Council voted unanimously on my nomination to fill the vacant mayor seat.
While the prospect of being mayor was overwhelming at the time, I felt well prepared for the role after six years on the council.
In addition to a myriad of successful grant applications for work both past and upcoming,

I have successfully continued the long planned update to our sewer facility, which finally broke ground this year.
It had been a worry for many years that the city would take on multi-million dollar loans for this project.
While mayor, I secured the last $1.85 million of state grant funding to pay for the entire facility without any loans or associated utility rate increases.

As your Mayor, I will continue to run the city in a professional manner, abide by all local and state laws, and keep the city moving forward in a sustainable way.

Elected officials should put the laws and codes first over their own biases, beliefs, and comforts.

This is the public trust given to me, and I have and will continue to execute the governing documents of our state and city for as long as I am in office.

Statement
The opportunity to serve and contribute to the future prosperity of the city of Vader is very exciting. I was born and raised just four miles from town and have a family heritage that stretches back over 120 years within Vader and the surrounding communities. I am committed to the future success, safety, and traditions of our community.

Creating a balance between our chosen quiet way of life and the reality that a community needs some growth to maintain stable infrastructure and services is an absolute priority. My wife Kelly and I have four children that are ages ten through twenty-one. My eye is on the future. Bettering our community with the goal that our children will also choose to raise a family here and continue the family connections within the community is of utmost importance to us.

As your elected official I will remain dedicated to the responsibilities of position, be trustworthy and demonstrate the highest integrity, remain open to new ideas and perspectives, and stand by my convictions.
